Blog

Whether you're planning a complete kitchen makeover or a more subtle remodel, upgrading your cabinetry can be one of the best decisions you make. Not only can cabinet upgrades provide you with more practical storage, but new cabinets can have a huge impact on the overall look and feel of your kitchen. As you plan out your kitchen, keep some of these up-and-coming kitchen cabinet trends in mind!

Two-Toned Cabinetry

Gone are the days of one solid color being your only choice when it comes to cabinetry. Today, many homeowners are getting creative with their use of colored cabinetry. Specifically, opting for a darker shade on the bottom row of cabinets and a lighter shade on top has become a huge trend in modern kitchen design. Another popular option is to have your kitchen island cabinets painted a different color than the rest.

Built-In Cabinet Lighting

Under-cabinet lighting become increasingly popular throughout the early 2000s, and it remains a huge hit in kitchen design today. However, you might also consider having soft lighting built into the inside of your cabinets, especially those with glass fronts. This can be a lovely way to add mood lighting to your kitchen and show off your fine china.

Light and Airy Colors

While you still cannot go wrong with beautiful cherry wood cabinetry in your kitchen, many homeowners these days are opting for brighter and lighter kitchen colors--and cabinetry is no exception here. Today, crisp, white kitchen cabinets are at peak popularity. If you're looking for a cabinet color that will stand up to the test of time, consider a bright white tone. You can always add pops of color with kitchen accessories, such as window curtains, rugs, and even back splashes.

Creative Storage

From lazy Susans and built-in spice racks to hidden storage compartments, today's kitchen cabinets are designed with the user in mind. As you shop around for kitchen cabinetry, look for organization and storage features that will make your life easier, such as pull-out shelving and soft-close drawers. These small features can add up to a big difference in your kitchen.

These are just a few of today's biggest design trends for kitchen cabinetry, so be sure to keep these in mind as you plan your kitchen makeover. Choosing A Remodeling Theme

After I started focusing more seriously on making over my home, I realized that there were a few things I needed to do. For starters, I realized that I needed to go through and work with a professional to rework the space. We talked about things like workflow and the initial impression of the space, and it was great to hear someone else's opinion of what needed to happen. Within about six months, the entire area was completely finished, and I was really happy with how things turned out. This blog is all about choosing a remodeling theme when you are making over your home.
